By using AdagIA ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App. These Terms form a binding agreement between you and nicomotica ("we", "us"). If you are using the App through Apple's App Store, Apple's standard End User License Agreement (EULA) also applies, and these Terms are concluded between you and nicomotica only — Apple is not a party.
AdagIA is a collaborative platform for discovering, sharing, and preserving cultural wisdom — proverbs, sayings, idioms, and adages from around the world. The App offers AI-assisted features to help users find, translate, and enrich cultural content (see Section 6).
You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. Users between 13 and 17 may only use the App with the consent of a parent or legal guardian, and only in accordance with applicable child-safety law. The App is not intended for, and we do not knowingly collect data from, children under 13. Educators using AdagIA Teams in classrooms with students under 13 must obtain verifiable parental consent and comply with COPPA, FERPA, GDPR-K, and any other applicable child-privacy law.
You sign in exclusively through Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google. AdagIA does not store passwords for these sign-in methods. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your authentication provider account.
In-app account deletion. You may delete your AdagIA account at any time from within the App. Doing so erases or irreversibly anonymizes your personal account data (profile name, email, profile photo, country, push tokens, AI request cache, private favorites and collections, Eco balance and transaction history, team memberships, reports you filed, and similar account-level data).
Shared contributions remain. The cultural content you have published as part of the public AdagIA catalogue — including sayings, proverbs, idioms, translations, audio (where applicable), corrections, and ratings you submitted — is not automatically deleted when you delete your account. After deletion, those contributions remain in the catalogue but are de-attributed (your name, handle, avatar and account identifier are removed from them). This is because the catalogue is a collaborative, community-curated record of cultural heritage that other users have built upon, rated, translated, and incorporated into wisdom groups; bulk removal would damage the shared work of the community.
Requesting removal of shared content. If you want specific shared contributions removed in addition to the de-attribution above, please email apps@nicomotica.com from the email associated with your AdagIA account, listing the contributions you want removed. We will review each request and remove or further anonymize content where (a) you have a legal right to its removal, (b) the content is yours, original, and not derived from a traditional/public-domain proverb, and (c) removal will not unduly damage the integrity of community-curated wisdom groups. We will respond within 30 days. Subscriptions and Apple-side purchase records (managed by Apple) are not affected by AdagIA account deletion and must be cancelled separately through your Apple ID Subscriptions settings.
By submitting sayings, translations, ratings, comments, profile photos, or other content ("User Content") to the App, you grant nicomotica a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, modify (for moderation, formatting, and translation), display, distribute, and otherwise use your User Content within the App and for the operation, promotion, and improvement of the App. You retain ownership of your original User Content. You represent that you have all rights necessary to submit your User Content and that it does not infringe any third-party rights.
The App includes AI-assisted features ("AI Features") such as:
To deliver these features, the text and metadata you submit are sent through our backend to third-party AI service providers, currently OpenAI (OpenAI, L.L.C.) and Anthropic (Anthropic, PBC). Inputs and outputs may be temporarily cached by us to improve performance and reduce cost. We do not authorize these providers to use your inputs to train their general-purpose models, and we rely on each provider's enterprise/API data-processing terms; however, you should review their respective privacy policies before using AI Features.
Nature of AI output. AI-generated output is provided "as is" and may be inaccurate, incomplete, biased, or culturally insensitive. AI Features are tools to assist you — they are not a substitute for human judgement or expert linguistic, historical, or cultural advice. AI-generated content is clearly labeled within the App and is routed through our community moderation system before being published.
Your responsibility. You are responsible for reviewing AI output before accepting, sharing, or publishing it. You must not use AI Features to generate content that is unlawful, harmful, hateful, violent, sexually explicit, harassing, infringing, defamatory, deceptive, or that attempts to manipulate or jailbreak the underlying AI models. You must not use AI Features to impersonate real persons, generate synthetic identity content, or generate malicious code.
Cost of AI Features. Some AI Features consume "Eco" virtual credits. Eco credits are not real currency, are not redeemable for cash, and are non-transferable. Cached results may not consume credits.

Content is subject to community and editorial moderation and may be removed at our discretion. Repeated or serious violations may result in suspension or termination of your account.
You can report objectionable content or abusive behavior from within the App. We endeavor to review reports of objectionable content and remove confirmed violations within 24 hours. We may also use automated tools (including AI classifiers) to assist moderation. Decisions about content and accounts are at our sole discretion.
Team and organization leaders are responsible for inviting members, defining assignments, managing their teams' content, and ensuring that members (including minors, where applicable) comply with these Terms and applicable law. nicomotica is not responsible for interactions between team members or for assignments created by educators.
Traditional proverbs and sayings belong to the cultural heritage of their communities and are not owned by nicomotica. The App's software, design, branding, original written text, curated databases, and trademarks are the property of nicomotica or its licensors. Except as expressly permitted, you may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of the App.
Some features require in-app purchases, including consumable items (Eco credits, tips), non-consumable unlocks (e.g. Unlimited Audio), and auto-renewable subscriptions (Guardian, Patron). All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period through your Apple ID Subscriptions settings. Pricing and renewal terms are disclosed at the point of purchase. Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with the Apple Media Services Terms; nicomotica cannot directly issue refunds for App Store purchases.
The App relies on Apple, Google, OpenAI, and Anthropic to provide authentication, payments, and AI features. Your use of those services is also subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of third-party providers.
The App and all User Content and AI-generated content are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or cultural authenticity. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, nicomotica and its licensors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the App or AI Features, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. nicomotica's aggregate liability for any claim relating to the App shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) USD 50.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless nicomotica and its officers, employees, and agents from any claim or demand arising from your User Content, your use of the App or AI Features, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
You may stop using the App at any time and delete your account from within the App. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if required for legal, security, or operational reasons. Sections 5, 10, 13, 14, 15, 17, and 18 survive termination.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Chile, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer-protection law of your country of residence provides otherwise. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Santiago de Chile, except where applicable law grants you the right to bring action in your local courts.
If you obtained the App from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that: (a) these Terms are between you and nicomotica only, not Apple; (b) Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App; (c) Apple is not responsible for addressing claims relating to the App; (d) Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you; (e) you must comply with applicable third-party terms (including the App Store Terms of Service); and (f) you represent you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the App or by email where appropriate. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
